Shipping Policy

We are not a trucking company and don't own our own trucks. Freight rates can and do change frequently throughout the year. They may increase and decrease. There are many issues related and unrelated that can cause that to happen. Oil Prices, Equipment shortages, Truck Driver shortages or work slowdowns. Supply and demand. Then there's seasonality issues like weather that can cause delays, equipment shortages and rate increases. This page should answer most of the common questions we're asked about shipping your order. Time frames 
After you approve your web order, we will enter, pick and ship it within 3-7 business days. (not including weekends) This time frame varies throughout the year. Our volume increases during the Fall and into the Holiday seasons. (September through November.) We experience delays because of the volume. We'll work hard to meet your specific shipping dates. Please plan and allow extra time during this period to receive your order. 

 

Disclaimer
Regent Products Corp. will not ship single cases or small orders containing aerosol sprays due to HAZMAT restrictions. We do not ship single cases containing liquid. That list includes, but is not limited to: pump sprays, cleaners, shampoos, conditioners, personal care items, perfumes, bath & body wash, or any other liquid item deemed fragile to ship on their own. We will also not ship single cases of: picture frames, glassware, dinnerware, candles, plastic containers, plastic dishes or serving ware via UPS due to potential damages. Regent Products Corp. reserves the right to cancel any order if determined it does not meet a minimum order requirement or if the items cannot be shipped safely.   

 

Your Estimate & Charges
Shipping estimates are just that… an estimate.  If changes are made to your order, the shipping fees will also change.  A shipping estimate is based on weight, cube and destination. When a change is made, we have to recalculate the entire order agian. All freight charges are the responsibility of the customer. All orders ship F.O.B./Freight Collect from our warehouse in River Grove, Illinois.  After your order leaves our facility, the customer owns the goods in transit and is responsible for filing any damage claims directly with the trucking company.  Any freight charges that are prepaid with a credit card can be subject to a service charge fee by the credit department.  

 

How we ship
We work with many trucking companies to get the highest discount on your shipment. We will quote you the rate supplied to us by our carriers. If you have an agreement with a preferred carrier just let us know ahead of time when you're placing your order so we can contact them for pick-up. All orders are carefully picked, checked and shrink wrapped.

 

International Shipping 
We are experienced  Exporters, shipping product around the world. We recommend that you locate a freight forwarder familiar with tariffs and rules specific to your country.  Regent Products Corp can recommend a freight forwarder, but will not be liable for any services provided by them.

 

Customer pick-up
Depending on the size of your order and the time of day we received it, your order will be ready for you within (24) hours to pick-up. We need a reasonable amount of time to pick your order. Customers should verify first with your salesperson or our traffic department if this time frame is available. All orders will be carefully picked, checked and shrink wrapped on pallets to secure your shipment during transit. These steps help avoid extra costs, increase efficiencies and reduce damages. Customers arranging their own pick-up/transportation must provide full information on the trucking company to us. All pick-up orders have to be routed by the customer, which means they will need to provide us with the name of the trucking company, contact information, name, time and date of pick-up.

 

Walk-ins are always welcome!
We welcome walk-in orders. Customers placing and picking up orders the same day must allow us a reasonable amount of time to do so depending on the size of your order. All walk-in orders should be placed no later than 3:00pm to pick up the same day. There could be times when you can't pick-up your order the same day.  This will vary depending on our workload in the warehouse.  

 
                             The THREE things you should do on every Delivery.

 1. Read what you sign

If no lift-gate was used during your delivery, make sure there is no mark on the Bill of Lading saying so. Do not sign for anything that did    not happen or make note on the BOL (Bill of Lading) that it did not happen.

2. Always keep a copy of the Bill of Lading: 

This can save you time and money especially if you need to file a claim.

 

3. Count your cases!

We are aware that truckers are in a rush. If the BOL says 30 cases and you only received 29, SIGN SHORT! This will ensure you receive your credit for the item that was not delivered. You usually have 30 Minutes to unload your order and count cases.  You should file your claim immediately or within 72 hours after delivery.

 

Additional Charges Terminology-
This is not a complete list. Trucking companies vary by price and the types of fees they may charge for these services.

Inside Delivery:(having the trucker bring your goods inside the store

Lift-Gate: When the trucker lowers your pallet of goods to the ground on an elevator from the rear of the truc

 

The location of your store matters! Please let us know ahead of time. Limited Access (locations that are hard to access or need credentials or password PIN to enter the for Example:  schools, military bases, prisons, government buildings.

 

  • Waiting Time: At the time of delivery, you have 30 minutes to unload your order off the truck. An additional 30 minutes is allotted for orders over 2,500lbs,with an additional 30min for each increase of 2500lbs. – (varies by carrier)
  • Storage Charge: If shipment is stalled for any reason or you cannot commit to your delivery appointment when trucker arrives and you reject delivery.
  • Weekend Delivery: Additional charges will apply if you request a weekend delivery.
  • Reconsignment: When the delivery address changes while the goods are already in transit.
  • Multiple Stops: Drop off points where the carrier delivers portions of the load to multiple locations.
  • Lumper Fees:  Grocery stores and large warehouses charge these fees to unload the container.
  • Sort & Segregation charges: When a customer requires the driver to unload and sort the merchandise for the
  • Inside deliveries/Liftgates/Delivery Appointments
    When you request a lift gate, or a call notifying you of your delivery or inside delivery additional charges will apply and are the responsibility of the customer. Regent Products Corp will not pay and is not liable for any additional charges incurred. Shipping companies can even deliver inside your business. Again, any extra charges are the responsibility of the customer.
